A special session devoted entirely to issues being faced by the new superintendent was deemed most helpful as successful superintendents and Associate Members responded to their direct inquiry.
Superintendents Molleen Barnes, Sunol Glen and Steve Olmos, Willows Unified, both graduates of the 2007 Symposium returned to talk about their first year and how the use of mentors provided by SSDA was critical to “their survival” and success.
The symposium is an ongoing event and plans are already being made for 2009. All members are encouraged to remind new superintendents in their area to attend.
