Distance learning instruction is something we all are adjusting to. Below you can find tips and ideas that you can use to perhaps make this transition easier. Have an idea you'd like to share? Send it to alyssa@ssda.org

- NEW - 85 learning games and technologies developed wtih funding
from the U.S. Department of Education are now available online at no cost until the end of the school year. Each year the Department of Education hosts the ED Games Expo -- this year's event was held in January. The games and technologies include a variety of different topics including math, science, special education, early learning, and social/emotional/healthy development.
- Keep your kids on schedule each day! Implement a time for them to do chores around the house, physical activity, educational times and breaks. Maintaining a schedule will help your children transition to and from school. Example of schedules can be found here.
- NEW - Ed tech companies set up free resources for schools during the COVID19 Outbreak.
- NEW - Google releases TEACH FROM HOME.
- We are slowly learning that almost everything can be done online - even celebrating spirit week! Host a remote spirit week for your class.
- Communicating with parents especially during this time is KEY. Use ClassDojo for free to keep the line of communication open.

- Who says bingo can only be played in person? Get your staff/board members to download this remote bingo sheet for your next conference call.
- Teachers, are you sending out paper-only bulk packets? Consider specific color of paper for each day of the week (i.e., Monday is yellow, Tuesday is blue, and so on) so that younger students know exactly when they are done with their work for the day.
- Thanks to theUC Davis C-STEM Center, K12 students and teachers affected by COVID-19 school closures can now get free access to the following: RoboBlockly, C-STEM
Studio, and Ch Professional for learning math and CS with robotics. In addition, verified C-STEM Districts can receive free access to C-STEM’s distance learning compatible and common core compliant math with computing and robotics curriculum.
